Finals! Panthers 2-goal rally in final minutes captures title 7-6!Sharks 3-goal 3rd period edges Predators 4-2! 

 

Championship- Prep Panthers: 7 Prep Wild: 6  

In a see-saw title game with many lead changes, the Panthers struck first on a goal from Killian Weston(3G), assisted by Drew Cohen(3G/2A). The Wild Dominick D'Agostino(5G) tied the game at 1-1. A late goal by Weston put the Panthers up 2-1 after the 1st. In the 2nd, D'Agostino of the Wild added another pair, while Weston countered for the Panthers, who trailed 4-3 at the end of the 2nd period. Early in the 3rd, Cohen tied the game at 4-4 for the Panthers. D'Agostino put the Wild up again, 5-4, with his 5th of the afternoon. After another Weston goal to knot the game at 5-5, Gavin Baker(1G/2A) put the Wild on top 6-5, with 2:20 remaining. With 1:23 left, Panthers Porter Ritchie deflected a Drew Cohen point shot for the equalizer, tying the game at 6-6. A Drew Cohen wrister with under a minute to play broke the tie and put the Panthers up for good. The Panthers held on for the title win, 7-6. Goaltender Stella Ritchie notched the win, while facing 27 shots between the pipes for Panthers. Sawyer Lazarus stood tall for the Wild, facing 23 shots.

Prep Sharks: 4  Prep Predators: 2

In the 3rd place game, the Predators struck early on a Blaise Otero(2G) goal, to lead 1-0 after the 1st period. The Sharks struck back in the 2nd, on a Sebastian Wilk(1G) rebound, to knot the game at 1-1 after the 2nd period. In the 3rd, the Predators took the lead 2-1 on another Otero goal. Felix Manev(3G) tied the game at 2-2 for the Sharks, and then converted a pair of breakaways in the last minutes of the game to put the Sharks up 4-2. The Sharks held on for the victory, claiming 3rd place. Between the pipes, goalie Noah Transleau notched the win for the Sharks, stopping 21 of 23 shots, while returning netminder Andrea Bosco turned away 22 shots for the Predators.

Prep Skills contest on 1/20/26:  

On a chilly Tuesday night, Prep and Learn to Skate skaters met for the league's annual Skills Contest. Skaters competed in the Goalie Shootout, Sharpshooter, and Fastest Skater contests. At the end of the event, trophies and ribbons were awarded to participants.

Note that we do have an equipment lease program where parents can get loaner equipment for the season (with a deposit check). The lease program is first-come, first-serve limited only by our on-hand equipment.

Take Advantage of Our Loaner Program!

 

The Wellington Roller Hockey Association offers loaner equipment  for beginner and first time skaters of all ages, including goalie gear.  Email us directly, or let one of the coaches at evaluations know you are interested.

Donations Accepted
